ULTRASOUND

Ultrasound helps achieve optimal vision after cataract surgery.

LASERS

The clinic is equipped with two different lasers to aid in the treatment of glaucoma and other eye diseases. Diabetics are 40% more likely to develop glaucoma.

IOL MASTER & PENTACAM

The IOL Master and Pentacam are indispensable tools in achieving optimal results from cataract surgery. Diabetics tend to get more cataract sooner.

FIELD ANALYZER

The Humphrey Field Analyzer (HFA) is used to detect and document visual field defects as occur with strokes and glaucoma, both of which are more common in diabetics.

OCULAR COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY

Ocular coherence tomography (OCT) is the most sensitive method of detecting Diabetic Macular Edema (DME), a common very serious cause of vision loss in diabetics.

OPTOMAP

The Optomap gives the widest image available in the world of the back of the eye allowing us to detect diabetic eye disease that other methods miss.

PACHYMETRY

Pachymetry measures the central corneal thickness. A thick cornea can make intraocular pressure seem

higher than it is.

TONOMETER

The tonometer measures the intra-

ocular pressure (IOP). Elevated IOP

is a risk factor for glaucoma. Diabetics

have a 40% greater chance of

developing glaucoma.

AUTOREFRACTOR

The autorefractor measures the

optical properties of the eye.
